Regional Development Australia Wheatbelt (RDAW) (the ‘Principal’) is seeking quotes from suitably qualified individuals and/or organisations to deliver culturally appropriate training in the areas of governance and financial management for Aboriginal corporations and not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) throughout the Wheatbelt.
The Wheatbelt region is home to a number of Aboriginal corporations and not-for-profit organisations who play key roles in Aboriginal economic, social, and cultural development and empowerment. Many of these organisations, however, face challenges in implementing effective governance and financial management practices that are culturally appropriate and sustainable. RDAW aims to address these challenges by providing tailored training delivered in a culturally suitable environment, focusing on governance and financial management principles relevant to the local context.
The project focuses on the key objectives to achieve its overall outcome:
- To enhance the capacity of Aboriginal corporations and not-for-profit groups in the Wheatbelt region in governance and financial management practices.
- To empower local Aboriginal trainers to lead the delivery of training programs, ensuring authenticity and cultural sensitivity.
- To foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among participants to strengthen the overall governance and financial management ecosystem in the region.
Additionally, it will provide the opportunity for local Aboriginal trainers interested in building their capacity to deliver governance and financial management training programs within their own communities.
Delivering training in person within a culturally safe environment is essential for building strong relationships with participants and for recognising any cultural sensitivities that may be present. Ongoing support, delivered through approved methods and supplemented by publicly accessible guidance materials, is a critical component of this training.
