Latest News - The Northam Study Hub is Coming

The Northam Study Hub Agreement with the Australia Government Department of Education is now signed.

The Northam Study Hub will be delivered through the Lumen Wheatbelt Regional University Study Hub program. This project is funded though the Australian Government’s Regional University Study Hubs program.

The Ellenbrook Study Hub is nearly ready to open.

The City of Swan and Regional Development Australia Wheatbelt (RDA Wheatbelt) are excited to announce the Ellenbrook Study Hub is set to open soon. This exciting initiative is funded under the Australian Government’s Suburban University Study Hubs program.

The Ellenbrook Study Hub aims to address key barriers to tertiary education by reducing long travel times and providing essential resources and support. This is one of the first hubs to be funded through the newly established Suburban University Study Hubs program.

What is a Regional University Study Hub?

Regional University Study Hubs help students in regional and remote areas access higher education without having to leave their community. They provide in person student support and campus-style facilities for students who study online.

The Lumen Wheatbelt Regional University Study Hub Model

The Wheatbelt region is unique in that there is not one central location in which one centre can be established that provides equitable access to all students across the region.

The Wheatbelt model is an overarching virtual campus with co-working study hub spaces to support diversity, equity of access and participation of students with improved student outcomes.  Four study hubs have been established in Narrogin, Wongan Hills, Merredin and York.

Each hub has dedicated study areas with computers and printer, access to meeting rooms and kitchenette facilities.  Student Support Officers are employed to provide in person support.

What are the FREE services the Lumen Wheatbelt Regional University Study Hubs offer?

  • Support from a local Student Support Officer
  • Access to high speed internet
  • Access to computers and printing

ANYONE from ANY Australian University or TAFE studying under graduate and post graduate courses or Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are eligible to access these free services.
