Funded by Regional Development Australia (RDA) Midwest Gascoyne (RDAMWG) in conjunction with RDA Wheatbelt (RDAW) the new centralised Funding and Grants Hub will take the stress out of the process and empower local businesses, community groups, sporting clubs, local gov’ts and not-for-profit organisations to easily find and successfully apply for grants – all in one place.
RDAs Midwest Gascoyne and Wheatbelt thank the Hon Melissa Price MP Member for Durack and Minister for Defence Industry and Hon Nola Marino MP, Member for Forrest and Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories, who travelled to Geraldton to launch the Funding and Grants Hub at a breakfast function on the 5th November.
Assistant Minister Marino congratulated the two RDAs for working together to bring this resource to the Midwest Gascoyne and Wheatbelt communities “It is collaboration like this that makes the RDA network such an important asset in our regions.”
Finding and applying for funding grants can be a time consuming, frustrating and complicated ordeal for many people. However, an exciting, easy-to-use solution is right at hand, right now.
This one-stop shop is Australia’s most accessible and comprehensive online grants portal, listing 98 percent of available grants, and filters them relevant to the needs of the searcher. Less time spent searching for grants and more time to win them.
RDAMWG Chair Mrs Yvonne Messina said regional communities rely heavily on grants for infrastructure, events, cultural and community development and capacity building, and this RDA initiative is in response to a widely-recognised need for improved awareness and access to grant funding.
“RDA’s Funding and Grants Hub is a time-saving and easy way for applicants from small community organisations to local governments to source available funding tailored to their needs,” she said.
“This grants hub, funded by the two RDAs, is free to use for 63 communities across the Midwest, Gascoyne and Wheatbelt.”
RDA Wheatbelt Chair Mr Terry (Tuck) Waldron said “It is a great way to help overcome some of the barriers to regional growth – and all that’s required is to register.
Tuck also goes on to say “Our Local Governments have also been offered the opportunity to subscribe to a Council portal, allowing access to funding streams that are only available to Local Governments. This valuable resource provides an added advantage in the funding arena.”
RDAMWG will hit the road in the next couple of months, visiting their regional communities to roll out training and information sessions on how to register, access and use the grants hub to benefit their organisations and community.
